About this Website
This website is a collaboration between Northwestern University Chemistry professor Franz Geiger, PhD and Groundswell Educational Films, a nonprofit organization.
The data displayed on the website is 100% in the public domain, and was collected by the US EPA and US Army Corps of Engineers in the late 1990s an early 2000s. A team of Northwestern University undergraduate students including Gabriel Arenas, Colleen Grady, and Oriana Kamber entered the data from EPA spreadsheets into a new website built by Groundswell, the idea for which was based on an earlier work by Joseph Hoover and Scot Ankeney. Funding for the project was provided by the National Science Foundation.
